Description

Founded  in 2013, UK based Wild in the City is a national organization supporting well-being through relationship with nature.  The organization  works from natural settings offering experiences in hiking, woodland living skills, natural history and ecotherapy. Efforts are also focused on national conversations about people of color’s relationships with nature and attitudes that can lead to people feeling that they don’t belong.

Through programming, Wild in the City offers a range of nature experiences designed to inspire participants to spend more time outdoors and help make nature a meaningful part of their  everyday life.

The organization also provides consultancy to leading environmental NGO’s, funders and government bodies on issues of access and engagement in the environmental field, including Natural England, Woodland Trust, Butterfly Conservation, Friends of the Earth, PM SPAD on Environment.

Founder and Director  Beth Collier is a Nature Allied Psychotherapist and ethnographer who teaches natural history and woodland living skills. Beth has a background in research and policy, managing programmes and consultancies in the fields of psychological health and human rights.  She has a lifelong passion for nature stemming from a rural upbringing.
