Greetings! I’m a member of the Green Team of Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church in Baltimore, MD, an avid walker and nature lover for most of my life. After choosing to teach yoga and yoga nidra (guided meditation) for my “retirement job,” I discovered “nature therapy.” This led me to
became a Kripalu Mindful Outdoor Guide, (KMOG) through “The Kripalu School of Outdoor Leadership, which combines all of the interests/disciplines that are my primary focus now.
I found a way into environmental justice through the Interfaith Partners for the Chesapeake. My church formed a “Green Team” to bring awareness to local environmental issues and to address issues facing our church building. Our walking group expanded during the COVID shutdown from the neighborhood to local parks. We noticed the difference on the upkeep in City parks and I contacted local officials. This work continues to keep our parks safe and fun for all people.
