Ki’Amber Thompson (they/she) is an abolitionist environmental justice educator, healing justice practitioner, artist, and PhD student at the University of California Santa Cruz. Ki’Amber is the founder and co-director of the Charles Roundtree Bloom Project, an outdoor healing justice program for youth and families impacted by incarceration, policing, and criminalization. The Bloom Project identifies the prison industrial complex and climate change as two of the most significant interconnected issues of our time and addresses these issues by creating spaces of communal healing where participants connect with the healing power of nature, engage in place-based social-environmental justice education, and imagine, practice, and heal toward a more just and sustainable world.
