ALEXANDRIA CASTEEL is an early career anthropologist and nature lover with broad interests in environmental justice. Her research examines how Black communities care for the environment in ways that address legacies of injustice, yet also offer pathways for different environmental futures. By centering Black environmental practices that move beyond harm and the potential they hold for repair, her work seeks to transform the way that anthropologists and others conceptualize environmental justice.
