As a rising sophomore at Millburn High School, Shriya Iyer has participated in the summer Colombia Eco-Ambassador Center for Sustainable Development for the last two years, creating various story maps on the effect of the environment on us, and how we in turn change it. Shriya has recently discussed her work with the United Nation Political Forum, where the topic of ecological justice was the main focus. Ecological justice questions how to combat the unequal impact of environmental crises on marginalized communities. Shriya strongly believes that this must be one of our top priorities when addressing multifaceted issues such as climate change. Not only spreading awareness but taking action in donating to related organizations is essential when considering these issues.
