Anvi Anand is a rising sophomore at the Lawrenceville School and has been a passionate Eco Ambassador with Columbia University’s Center for Sustainable Development for the past two years. In the summer of 2023 & 2024, she participated in their Eco Ambassador Summer Program and created multiple story maps. She has focused on multiple sustainable development goals and presented topics like Climate Justice, Fast Fashion, and Microplastics in the Northeast at different conferences. Working alongside Dr. Iyengar, Dr. Joshi, and Professor Benavot at the World Congress panel in Cornell, she presented the influence of sustainability in education from a youth perspective. She has also been working with the Ban-Ki Moon Foundation to construct a Global Citizenship toolkit alongside other Eco Ambassadors. Her interests fall in public relations, the environment, and finance. In her free time, she loves hiking and traveling, reading novels, and performing music. Anvi believes in starting the “butterfly effect” for the planet by taking small steps that lead up to bigger outcomes, and hopes to achieve this goal through her future work.
