Chris (they/them) is a Black, Queer, Disabled, Puerto Rican/Cuban activist from Miami, FL, with over 20 years of experience in racial, climate and environmental justice movements.
They began organizing during Obama’s first presidential campaign, advocating for LGBTQIA rights in Florida. Chris later focused on environmental justice at their university, successfully opposing the expansion of a nuclear power plant that would burden South Florida residents.
Chris has since become a seasoned facilitator and trainer. They served as training director for the Sierra Student Coalition, empowering youth across Turtle Island in organizing for social change against oppressive systems.
Recently, Chris contributed to setting M4BL’s Black Climate Mandate and now works as an adjunct trainer at Midwest Academy and a campaign coach for SONG’s Free From Fear cohort.
