Speaker Bio
Adella Bass-Lawson is PCR’s Community Health Lead. Born and raised in Altgeld Gardens,
Adella has been with PCR since she was fourteen years old. Adella has been instrumental in the
movement to improve the quality of life on the far South Side of Chicago. Since her first job with PCR
when she was fourteen with After School Matters, she now serves as Health Community Equity Zone’s
Health Lead, a part of the Chicago Housing Coalition, a Chicago Youth Center Auxiliary board member,
co-chair of the International Port Authority District, a member of the Black Caucus of Health Workers,
and a certified community health worker. She is also a contributor to ICJIA Members Incarcerated
HB1119. Adella has played an integral role in creating better resources for far South Side residents
including organizing around tenants' rights, distributing COVID vaccines, holding community workshops,
listening sessions, and more.
