Description

The right of indigenous nations to identify and control how their food is produced and distributed goes beyond having enough to meet physical needs. It extends to control of land, water, and other natural resources, connection to cultural practices, and physical and mental health. Discussion will explore community-led efforts to cultivate and maintain healthy, sound relationships with the land, the impacts of disconnection from these agricultural and cultural practices, and examples of a restored ecological balance.
